CRE

Since its creation on March 24, 2000, the Commission de Régulation de l'Energie (CRE) has ensured the smooth operation of the French electricity and gas markets, to the benefit of end consumers and in line with energy policy objectives.

The CRE College is composed of five members, including its chairwoman. The gap between the number of women and men cannot be more than one, appointed because of their legal, economic, and technical qualifications, they define the major orientations and adopt the decisions and opinions based on the expertise of the departments, placed under the authority of the chairwoman and the general director.

CRE has invited energy industry stakeholders to come together and adopt a collective approach to two key challenges: ensuring the success of the energy transition, and capitalising on the digital revolution to benefit all electricity and gas consumers.
