In the context of French and European carbon neutrality targets for 2050, smart grids represent a lever for optimising the electricity system and a major asset for the electrification of end-uses. They make it possible to speed up connections, optimise new investments in grid infrastructure, and help consumers play an active role in this transformation. CRE has been supporting their deployment for several years, in particular by monitoring experiments, providing incentive-based regulation for system operators, and creating a regulatory sandbox. This second report on the performance of electricity transmission and distribution system operators is based on a series of indicators collected from these operators.
